Carlisle Half Marathon
On Sunday, 2nd September 2018 you have the opportunity to take part in the Carlisle Half Marathon. The run will start and finish at Brunton Park Football Stadium, The home of Carlisle United. They will have 3 trails: half marathon, 10k and also to enable all levels of fitness to take part in this event, they have a fun 2k run!
Their chosen charity this year is Eden Valley Hospice. The money raised will provide care, support and activities to adults and children with life-limiting illnesses. Don’t miss the chance to help a charity and complete a personal challenge.
Surrey Bacchus Marathon and Half Marathon
If you’re the only sports enthusiast among your friends, this marathon will be something everyone will enjoy! Come with your friends and family on the 2nd September to Denbies Vineyard. They can support you from the indoor wine tasting, art gallery, or Farm Shop while you’re enjoying the scenic marathon route which goes through the vineyards. There’s also a post-race Hog Roast included in your entry for those in the Full, Half or 5 Mile events.
Jersey Spartans Half Marathon
JSAC’s half-marathon will take place on the 9th September 2018. The chosen track is very scenic, going through St Clement at sea level, uphill after the first mile, through scenic country lanes in Grouville and St Saviour to St Martin passes Hougue Bie & Mont Orgeuil Castle local heritage sites. They also have 3 additional routes: 4.3 miles, 3k and 1K. The last one is ideal for kids up to 9 years old.
Jersey Spartans’ chosen charity is Mind, the mental health charity. Their mission is to provide help and support to people experiencing mental health problems.
Worcester 10K and Kielder events
On the 16th September, you have the chance to participate in the Worcester half-marathon. The race begins on Croft Road just in front of the splendid railway viaduct, loops towards the river before passing the Museum of Royal Worcester and returns along Croft Road back under the viaduct to the welcome sight of the finish line.
If you want to bring your kids as well, you can feel free to do that. Your kids can take part in the Worcester young athletes run. U11 (7-10 years) Young Athletes will complete a 1-mile loop, and U16s (11-15 years) will run approximately 3km.
Chaparral Abersoch Half Marathon
On the 22nd of September, you can join the Chaparral Abersoch Half Marathon. You can choose to run the half-marathon or enjoy a 2K beach race. The track goes through Cardigan Bay, Snowdon & Bardsey Island as well as the unique, exhilarating finish along Abersoch beach with bar and live music for your post-race entertainment!
Pontefract Half Marathon
Pontefract Half Marathon will take place on Sunday, 30th September. The route starts and ends at Cornmarket, Pontefract Town Centre, passing through the beautiful countryside of Ackworth, Wentbridge and Carleton. The organisers promise lots of fun and some freebies after the run.
The charities they support this year are Prince of Wales Hospice and Wings for Life. You can opt to raise money for one of them and get the marathon entry ticket at a discounted price!
Raceways – Alcester 10K
On Sunday, 2nd October 2018 Raceway Alcester will take place. It is a 10K race that will start and finish in the beautiful market town of Alcester near Stratford Upon Avon. After the run, you can enjoy the post-race snacks and relax with friends in the numerous cafes and pubs. If you want to come with the whole family, they also have a free 1Km Kids Fun Run!
You have the chance to run for free if you help Raceway Alcester raise money for their children’s charity Kids Run Free. Kids Run Free creates free, fun and sustainable outdoor running opportunities for children of all ages, encouraging them to become healthier. You can help them by creating a profile on Local Giving and share it on social media.
Leicester Marathon
On Sunday, 14th October, you can choose to take part in the half or full marathon in Leicester. The track remains unchanged from 2017, with two routes design for people running the full marathon which loops towards Syston and the second one for the runners of the half marathon that goes along the top edge of Watermead Park.
If you don’t want to run you can also choose to volunteer for the event. Volunteers marshal both in the city and out in the county, man water stations, and help on the park.
The Great West Run
Another half-marathon will take place in Exeter on the 14th and 15th October. It will start and finish at the Exeter Arena. You will have the choice between 2.5k and 5k.
Exeter’s Great West Run is a fantastic charity fundraising event raising thousands of pounds each year. This year their lead charity partner is Macmillan Cancer Support. This charity helps people living with cancer and their families receive essential medical, practical and emotional support.

Run North West – Wilmslow 10K
The Wilmslow 10k course takes place on Sunday 25th November 2018. It offers runners the perfect mix of flat running, beautiful scenery and with its town centre location a fantastic atmosphere to help you enjoy your 10k experience.
The organisers encourage the runners to get into the Christmas spirit and dress up! Their official partner is The Christie charity. You can choose to raise funds for this fantastic cause or alternatively leave a toy at our Cash for Kids toy drop service.
